| Today the Shipley Planning Panel REJECTED the applications for a replacement swing bridge at Sty Lane by a vote of 6 to 1. |
| You may have read the Telegraph and Argus on 14th November (see "In the Press"- below) of the Council's blunder that has effectively removed "Greenhill" from the RUDP. However, do not jump for joy too quickly. Whilst they have not followed the set down procedures the Council are trying to recover their position by backtracking to say that they really meant to do so but somehow "forgot"!! They cannot legally add the land at Sty Lane back into the RUDP but are issuing a statement asking Planning Panels to consider that they did not intend to remove the sites. |
We require additional funds to take this fight to Appeal. The Appeal could cost up to £60,000 for a Barrister and our Consultants who will be expert witnesses. | The revised appeal situation is that the developers have appealed the second application for 440 houses with the Planning Inspectorate together with the 2 applications for the swing bridge. The Public Inquiry is to be held in Shipley Town Hall on 21st February 2012. If you wish to lodge objections details will be posted on our FAQ page together with reasons why you should do so. |
